Featured Waymark:
Gaudi's Dragon Fountain

This waymark, "Gaudi's Dragon Fountain" in Barcelona, Spain, can be found in the "Mosaics" category and was posted by the waymarker Chris777.

The artist/architect Antoni Gaudi's name is synonomous with mosaics. In fact, I would argue that his mosaic work is possibly the most famous modern mosaic works in the world. Among his exquisite work, the Park Güell is one of his most famous sites and is designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The benches and this beautiful dragon fountain, symbolizing fire and alchemy, are centerpieces of the park and must be seen to be fully appreciated. The 3 dimensional quality of mosaics is lost in photography.

If you are interested in Gaudi's work, there are several structures that he designed to be found on Waymarking.com, including: the church "Sagrada Familia", the Art Nouveau "Casa Milla", and the "Casa Batlló".
