Waytools

Below you'll find tools to help you keep track of your waymarks, category requirements, and more. You can download open a copy in either PDF format or MS Excel format, whichever you prefer.

If you have a category organization tool that you would like to share with the community, click on the "Contact Us" link on the left side of the page and tell us about it.

Category Spreadsheet

For those of you who are a bit more compulsive (like us), you'll enjoy this Excel spreadsheet listing all of the categories, and using a simple code to list each category's posting and visiting requirements. The code looks weird at first, but you'll quickly pick it up. There's a key on a separate sheet that you can use if you get stuck.

Grid Spreadsheet

This spreadsheet is laid out similarly to the grid that you see in your profile section on waymarking.com. The difference is that rather than icons, the grid cells are filled with the names of each category. This makes it easy to see what categories you need to post to when you're playing "Waybingo". Waymarker, Wildwoodke, took my basic grid spreadsheet and added some great extras. Now the grid will help you keep track of the number of categories you've waymarked in, link to category pages, and a bunch of other extras. A second worksheet explains the grid's functions and how to keep the grid updated. I've already transferred all of my info into a copy of this new and improved version and love it.

Paperless Waymarking: Category Description Text Files

Flipflopnick had the great idea to create simple text files of each of the extended category descriptions for downloading to PDA devices. Here's a way to have all of the category requirements with you at all times without having to print out a thing. We have a folder of the majority of the categories here for you to download. The folder is zipped so its size is only 600k - a nice quick download. Thanks Flipflopnick!
